digipak primary sources- editing process front cover

We decided to use the image below as the front cover because we felt it was the most interesting and intriguing of all the images. We have captured the key generic features in this image with the artist again taken alone, her guitar and the box that holds the magical elements that unfold in the music video.

This image required editing to give it the magical qualities we were looking for and I added a rainbow into the background to give the front cover some more colour and a magical feel of something good to be found at the end of the rainbow. The colour in the rainbow also brought a contrast to the duller colours of the box and the large expanse of green grass.

The processes of editing I undertook were:

1. Add more colour to the background to give it more natural light

2.Add the rainbow going over the artist to gain a enchanted feel to the image

3.Add a light effect to give the impression it was appearing out of the box

4.Dim the colour around each corner of the picture to draw the eye into the centre image

5.Increase the contrast and saturation
